Ankara's "reconciliation" has been part of renewing and trying to reconcile with Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt; so it is part of a wider agenda; also Ankara wanted to use pro-Israel voices in the US to get things; because Ankara knows it lacks friends in DC these days.

In order to get "reconciliation" Ankara did what it usually does in relations with the West, it used threats, including detaining tourists, and claims it was "helping" Israel regarding Iran's threats in Turkey, although one might ask why is Iran able to operate in Turkey…
